We continue our Lenten series today called “Looking to Lent.” Each message will cover another difficulty that we face in life. Our message today is “Facing Indignation.” We reflect on the ways that we can cut ourselves off from love because of our anger at others. Let us look for hope as we are looking to Lent.
Our scripture readings come from Joshua 5:9-12; 2 Corinthians 5:16-21; and Luke 15:1-3,11b-32.
We start our series called “Back to School.” In it, we will be taking a second look at lessons we may not have read since we were kids. Our first message is “Jonah is Angry.” Today we look at the story of Jonah and how Jonah is angry at his own success.
Our scripture readings comes from various sections of Jonah 1-4.
“Everything is Pointless” is the first message in the three week series Difficult Readings. This series looks at texts that can be hard to read. First up is Ecclesiastes. A repeated idea is that everything is pointless. Is this really true? Is this the main message? What does Ecclesiastes say about human emotion? About our own understanding? Can we really complain this much to God? Let us grow together as we explore these difficult readings!
Our scripture reading comes from Ecclesiastes 2:14-26.
