We continue our Lenten series today called “Looking to Lent.” Each message will cover another difficulty that we face in life. Our message today is “Facing Adversity.” We reflect on the ways that we overcome the adversities that we face in life. Let us look for hope as we are looking to Lent.

Our new series is Simple Thoughts. In it, we will be exploring a few of the simple thoughts I have had over these last few months. The first of these is “The Better Part” and was inspired by Jesus’ visit with Martha and Mary. What causes us anxiety? How do we deal with anxiety? What problems do we take to God? Which ones should we take? Do we stop to get the better part of what God offers us? These are some simple thoughts in complex times.

In some ways, I was afraid to write this. I worried that maybe I didn’t have enough time, as I was in the middle of so many projects and deadlines. That maybe I should just push through. But the more I reflect, the more I realize that it isn’t healthy, and it isn’t fair. It isn’t fair to anyone. My breaking point came from a phone call that I received earlier today. I’ll get around to that in a moment. For now, let me make something clear: depression is a very difficult thing that impacts nearly every facet of life. Continue reading “Struggles with Depression”
