We begin our Lenten series called “Depths of Love.” In it, we will explore the depths of God’s love in our Lenten journey to the cross. Our first message is called “Has Come Near.” Today we think about why we do what we do in Lent and explore what we can give up and what we can take up.
Our scripture readings come from Genesis 9:8-17; 1 Peter 3:18-22; and Mark 1:9-15.
Today we have a message for Passion/Palm Sunday. We have been journeying to the cross during Lent, and today we arrive. The message for today is “Journey to the Cross” and is a reflection on Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem and the Passion. We stand at the foot of the cross and reflect on what sacrifices have been made for us.
Our series for Lent is Promise of Lent. Each week we look at the promises we are reminded of in Lent. The message for today is “Promise of New Beginnings” and is a look at how we are always given a new beginning in Christ. How do we reflect on the path to the cross during Lent? What is the promise that guides us? We follow Christ in the promise of Lent.
“With a Purpose” continues in the Following God series. We look again at serving selfishly versus selflessly. What kind of fast does God want? Prayer? Worship? How do we shine a light or be the salt? How do we do anything? We explore what it takes when we are following God.
The latest in The Word in Song is “I Knew You Were Waiting,” inspired by the duet by George Michael and Aretha Franklin. How do we handle feeling alone in times of great difficulty? Do we lose sight of God? Will Christ ever not be there for us? Is God faithfully waiting? Find inspiration anywhere and everywhere, and hear the Word in song!
As we continue in Risen in Christ, we come to “Inherit the Kingdom.” We are told we are children of God, but do we show it? How do we live as those set to inherit the kingdom? Are we eager to invite others in? To tell them the good news that they too are heirs? Let us walk as those risen in Christ.
Today’s message in Acting with Christ is “Look and Live.” We get a familiar scripture with what might be unfamiliar context. What have we set our sights on? What kind of example do we set? Is Christ at the center? Let us prepare our hearts to Act with Christ.
