We begin our series called “Interpretation.” The series looks the way that we interpret and reinterpret Scripture. Our first message is “Retribution.” We take a look at the way that we look at retribution and Christ’s words challenging the law.

Our scripture readings come from Leviticus 24:17-22; 1 Peter 3:8-12; Matthew 5:38-42.

We finish our series called “Parables of Jesus” as each week delivered a new parable to explore. Our last message looks at a parable about the acts of the heart. “Evil Within” looks at how we address the things that reside within us all. What is the story God has placed in your heart?

Our scripture reading comes from Mark 7:14-23 .

Today marks the beginning of our third installment of The Word in Song with “Hungry Heart.” What does your heart long for? What do you desire? It it good? Is it bad? Do we consider our intentions when we act? The intentions of others? What does God want? Find inspiration anywhere and everywhere, and hear the Word in song!

Our scripture reading comes from Jeremiah 17:9-14.

Our musical inspiration comes from “Hungry Heart” by Bruce Springsteen.

Continuing our Lenten journey in Act with Christ, we arrive at “Clear the Temple.” We are given the image of Jesus driving out money changers and vendors by force. But why? What kind of example does Christ set for us? Do we hesitate to act on our prayers? Let us prepare our hearts to Act with Christ.

Our scripture reading comes from John 2:13-25.
