Our series is Simple Thoughts. In it, we will be exploring a few of the simple thoughts I have had over these last few months. The fourth and last of these is “A Little Trust” and looks at what faith means. Is our faith just something that sits there? What does patience have to do with trust? What does it really mean to trust God and in God? These are some simple thoughts in complex times.
“Blessing, Not Reward” is the final entry in Lessons from Job. What happens at the end of Job? If Job isn’t rewarded, what happened? What does the book teach us about life? About what we aren’t in control of? About what we are? Let us come together in faith to explore the lessons of Job!
“Contending with God” is the third entry in our Lessons from Job series. Job gets a response from God after his long debate with friends. But is it the response he was expecting? Can we ever understand God completely? What does that mean for us? Let us contemplate the lessons of Job together!
The third message in 3 Simple Rules is “Stay In Love With God” and it looks at our personal devotion. John Wesley was a little wordier with his rule, but it easily translates to staying in love with God. Do we think about being in love with God? Do we act in God’s love in all that we do? How can we keep God’s love as our central thought? What does it all mean for us as Christians? Let us do no harm, do good, and love God.
