We finish our Lenten series called “The Dark Valley.” The series looks at the way we deal with difficult times that test our faith. Our last message is “Witnessing Tragedy.” We look at the reminder of tragedy in our own lives that we get from being a witness to the crucifixion of Christ. Even in the darkest of times, God is till with us.

Our scripture reading comes from Luke 23:1-49.

“A Great Sadness” explores Lamentations as the last entry in Difficult Readings. Lamentations ends with a question that is hard: God, where are you? Is God there when things are hard? When we are sad? When we mess up? Can we always turn to God? Let us grow together as we explore these difficult readings!

Our scripture reading comes from Lamentations 5:1-22.

Blue Christmas 2018

We are hosting a Blue Christmas service in Greenup again this year. Join us for a special service of healing and hope. Feeling blue this Christmas? Greif, heartache, and loss happen at all times of the year, but it can be made especially hard around the holidays. We are offering a place to reflect, pray, and be in fellowship together to share in our struggles during this Christmas season. The service will include candle lighting, times for reflection, scripture, and a mix of music as well. Child care will be available.

Join us on December 18th at 6pm at the Greenup United Methodist Church. You can also find information on Facebook.
