We finish our Easter series called “Acts of Hope.” The series looks at different acts of the apostles and what they can teach us. Our final message is “Act of the Spirit.” We look at how the story of Pentecost is our story today. Our risen Savior inspires hope for all people.
We continue our series called “New Year, New Outlook.” Our next message is “The Spirit Descends” and is on the Sunday celebrating the Baptism of the Lord. In it, we explore the meaning of baptism and the Holy Spirit in our lives. A new year calls for reflection on a new outlook.
Our Easter series is Faith Resurrected. Each week’s message is based on words from the Gospel reading for that week. The message for today is “He Will Guide You” and is a reflection on what it means to seek the Holy Spirit. ? What does it require of us? What does it mean to open ourselves up to be guided by the Spirit? Our risen Savior guides us in our journey of faith.
Our Christmas series is Gifts of Christmas. Each week we look at a different gift we can give and receive. The message for today is “The Spirit” and is a look at how the Holy Spirit is a gift. What power do our words have? Why does the truth matter? How can we lift others up? What is the gift that we can give? Christ is the gift of Christmas that keeps on giving.
Our scripture reading for today comes from Mark 1:4-11.
The last entry in the Day by Day series is our Pentecost message. “Peace and Justice” takes a look at what it means to share peace with others. It is also a hard look at the way that we must take action for justice. In troubling times, those who can speak must speak for those who are not heard. If the Holy Spirit is for all, how do we work on ensuring that all people can share in peace? Day by day, we share God’s love and mercy.
Pentecost marks the end of our Easter series, Discover Hope. Our final message is “A Greater Understanding” and it contrasts two biblical accounts of speech being changed. How do the Tower of Babel story and the Pentecost narrative work together? Do we build our own towers? Are we being disciples or are we making them? Join us as we rediscover hope this Easter season!
Today’s message is the last in our Christmas Spirit series and covers the “Spirit of Acceptance.” What can we learn from the acceptance of the Holy Spirit? What about the acceptance of the early disciples? How can we practice God’s radical love? Keep the Spirit of Christmas with you all through the year.
