We begin our series called “Interpretation.” The series looks the way that we interpret and reinterpret Scripture. Our first message is “Retribution.” We take a look at the way that we look at retribution and Christ’s words challenging the law.

Our scripture readings come from Leviticus 24:17-22; 1 Peter 3:8-12; Matthew 5:38-42.

The last message in Being Transformed is “Transformed to Boldness” and looks at the way we are transformed to boldly proclaim the message of Christ. This is a deeply personal message today. How do we lift the veil to see the divine? Is our boldness in proclaiming Christ in proclaiming a message of good news for the least and the last? Is our boldness in breaking the yoke of oppression? Is our boldness that in God we can proclaim all these things and still have more to say? Let us make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!

Our scripture reading comes from Luke 9:28-36 and 2 Corinthians 3:12-4:2.

We begin a new series this Sunday called Lens of ChristOur first message is “On the Sabbath” and in it we look at the Old Testament and the New Testament and the Sabbath. What is the difference between the spirit of the law and the letter of the law? What does Jesus teach us about the Sabbath? And what do we learn from his response to the Pharisees? We see things differently when we see things through Christ.

Our scripture readings come from Numbers 15:32-36 and Mark 2:23-3:6.
