We start our series called “Matriarchs of Christ.” Each week we look at a different woman that is listed in the genealogy of Jesus from Matthew’s Gospel. Our message today is “Tamar.” We reach back today into Genesis for the story of a woman that was wronged and teaches us about rushing to judgement. We hear about faith from unexpected places in unexpected ways.

Back to School: Jonah is Angry

We start our series called “Back to School.” In it, we will be taking a second look at lessons we may not have read since we were kids. Our first message is “Jonah is Angry.” Today we look at the story of Jonah and how Jonah is angry at his own success.
Our scripture readings comes from various sections of Jonah 1-4.
Our latest series is The Gospels and the second message in our series is “Matthew.” Each week we will explore a different Gospel account. This week we look at what sets Matthew apart. What was Matthew’s purpose in writing? His focus? Who was Matthew? Do we know? See how the Gospels can be opened when you take each one and let the author speak to their own experience with Jesus Christ with their own voice standing alone.
Our readings today come from Matthew 1:17-25, 5:17-18, 10:5-7, 25:31-33, 27:3-5,24-26,45-53, 28:1-20.
Today’s message in the Being Transformed series is “Transformed to Mercy,” and continues in Luke from last week. What does it mean to be transformed to mercy? Why should we choose love? What do we lose when we judge others? How can we change the world? Let us make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!
Our scripture reading comes from Luke 6:27-38.
Today’s message is the first in the series 3 Simple Rules, based on the teaching of John Wesley. Our first rule is “Do No Harm.” What does it mean to harm others? Does it happen without us realizing? Why is this the first rule? How can we do a better job of not being a stumbling block to those seeking Christ? Let us do no have, do good, and love God.
Our scripture reading comes from Romans 14:13-23.
