We begin a new series called “Relational God.” The series is based on the Transfiguration. Each week will explore another aspect of God with a reading from John. Our first message is “God of Creation.” Today we look at what the creation narrative tells us about God.
Our scripture readings come from Genesis 1:1-2:3; John 1:1-5.
Our series is Jesus Is. Each week we look at a different way that we look at Jesus. The message for today is “Jesus is a Prophet” and is a look at Transfiguration Sunday. What is a prophet? What is the importance of Moses and Elijah? Is Jesus a prophet? What would that mean about Christ? Jesus is many things for all of us.
Our scripture reading for today comes from Mark 9:2-9.

Our final message of Following God is “In the Glory of God” for Transfiguration Sunday. What does the transformation mean? What is the message Christ has? What do we learn about following God? We explore what it takes when we are following God.
Our scripture readings for today come from Exodus 24:12-18 and Matthew 17:1-9.

The last message in Being Transformed is “Transformed to Boldness” and looks at the way we are transformed to boldly proclaim the message of Christ. This is a deeply personal message today. How do we lift the veil to see the divine? Is our boldness in proclaiming Christ in proclaiming a message of good news for the least and the last? Is our boldness in breaking the yoke of oppression? Is our boldness that in God we can proclaim all these things and still have more to say? Let us make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!
